| Mercantilist policy! We remember the concept.. bullionism and whatnot. Noticing how England was competing to drive out the Low Countries, the Netherlands started to fall out after a series of Anglo-Dutch wars. The slave trade was mentioned as well, showing how dependent everybody was on the slave trade. Triangular trade was mentioned, showing the flow of slaves, manufactured goods, rum, etc. from the countries. | |
